The popular Uber app has finally arrived for Windows Phone users. Windows Phone users can now download the Uber app from the Windows phone store for free. Previously Windows phone users were stuck with the unofficial app which looked like the mobile website but now Uber has finally made a native app available. The app debuted earlier on rival platforms like Android and iOS, as the service itself expanded to various countries.
You can request a ride within the app, choose the type of taxi you want and wait for your pickup. Payments are done through credit card which can be done within the app via secure account and the receipts are sent to you via email when you reach your destination. You can easily set your pickup location on the map even if you don’t know the exact address. The app lets you connect with your personal driver and check the progress of your Uber taxi at any time.
Few features like fare quotes, and the ability to split the fare between your friends or co-passengers are still under work. The link for sharing your trip map and ETA is also not included but Uber says it will add these functionalities within a month. The app is free and can be downloaded from here.
