Twitter vs Threads: Elon Musk says X’s video viewership has doubled since 2022
Elon Musk-owned X’s video viewership has nearly doubled since last year.
X CEO Linda Yaccarino also said that the platform’s video views have increased as compared to last year.
Also, the social networking platform might soon allow users to save or download a post as an image.
Meta’s Threads which was launched on July 5 to compete against X (formerly Twitter) got everyone’s attention and crossed over 100 million users in just a week, however later, it faced a decline in its users by up to 79%, according to the reports. Meanwhile, X-owner Elon Musk on Monday announced that video viewership on X has roughly doubled since last year, as he took over the platform in October 2022 for $44 billion.

Responding to one of Formula 1’s posts, X CEO Linda Yaccarino said, “Records all around: Verstappen. F1. X video views up 90% compared to last year.” To this, Musk replied: “Video viewership on X has roughly doubled since last year.”

In July, Musk had said that the platform hit a “new high” in "monthly users" this year. He had posted a graph showing X's growth and wrote: "X monthly users reach new high in 2023. Chart is 1/1 to yesterday. Also, this is after removal of a vast number of bots." The number 541,562,214 was at the end of the chart.

Moreover, the social networking platform might soon allow users to save or download a post as an image, eliminating the need to take a screenshot of a post.
After Meta launched Threads, Musk has been praising and promoting X. Earlier, he said, “You will get more laughs from this app than everything else combined.” He had also posted, “ You are free to be your true self here.”
Moreover, the tech billionaire had suggested users to use X to find dates. He also posted, "Whatever sins this platform may have, being boring is not one of them. Meanwhile, Yaccarino had said, "There's only ONE Twitter. You know it. I know it."
