Meta has not yet officially announced the Trending Topics feature in Threads. However, a Meta employee accidentally posted a screenshot (now deleted) showing how the feature works, reports 9To5Mac.

Although the original post has since been deleted, an app developer named Willian Max reposted the screenshot while respecting the employee’s privacy by concealing their name for obvious reasons.

The interface appears to be quite straightforward, displaying a list of the most discussed topics on Threads along with the respective post counts for each topic. These Trending Topics will likely be accessible within the Search tab, which has been recently improved to allow users to find public posts from other users based on keywords.
Since the screenshot comes from an internal version of the Threads app, it remains uncertain whether this will be the final interface when the feature becomes accessible to all users. Nevertheless, given that Meta employees are already utilising a fully operational Trending Topics feature, there is a chance that it might become accessible to the public soon.
Recently, Threads announced that users can now switch between multiple Threads profiles on mobile. Instagram head Adam Mosseri also announced two new features for Threads– the ability to follow a thread by turning on notifications for 24 hours without following the account, and the ability to quote other posts on web.
Moreover, Threads recently launched its keyword search feature in India. This feature is available on both mobile and the web version. For those who are unaware, the keyword search feature allows users to search for posts on Threads.
