Popular mobile game developer, Gamelot has announced that it plans to launch the sequel to its hit game The Amazing Spider-man in April. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, VP marketing and Licensing at Gameloft, Karine Kaiser said, “After the tremendous success of the first The Amazing Spider-Man mobile game, we’re excited to be working with Marvel again to bring the fan-favorite hero back onto smartphones with The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

Gameloft says that the storyline of the new game will stick to the plot of the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie since the developer works in collaboration with Marvel Entertainment. Gameloft says that players will be able to “Web-sling through a free-roam Manhattan in the ultimate playground, as Spider-Man rushes to save New York City from the chaos of a disastrous crime wave.”

The trailer of the new game shows improved graphics and gameplay. Players will be up against iconic villains of the Marvel Universe like Green Goblin and Electro.

Even though Gameloft hasn’t given any information regarding the pricing, the game will likely cost around Rs.390 initially as most premium Gameloft games do. The first iteration of the game The Amazing Spider-Man is currently available on a huge discount and can be bought at only Rs.6 on Android phones through Google Play Store.

Recently, Gameloft tied up with Indian cellular service, Idea, to offer games to users. Subscribers will be able to get any 3 games at Rs.24 for a week.  “This partnership will enable Idea customers to enjoy high quality games from Gameloft for their JAVA & Android devices without the hassles of Credit Card billing. Also, Idea will be the 1st operator in India to launch our popular Gameloft Club games subscription service, which provides great value to consumers,” Country Manager for Gameloft India, Sarabjeet Singh said last week.
