Spotify to get AI-fied with Gemini AI: Here’s how it will work
Spotify could be the next music streaming service to gain Gemini support.
It might allow users to find music, start radio stations, and more, all directly from the Gemini AI chatbot.
It means that the feature is under development and not yet live or usable.
Music is something that we all can’t live without. At least I cannot. Also, AI is booming so much at the same time, it is likely that it’ll enter our favourite music apps too. Forget likely, it is happening and that’s what we are here to talk about. Last month, Google introduced a YouTube Music extension for its AI chatbot, Gemini. Now, it seems Spotify could be the next music streaming service to gain Gemini support.
What can you do with the Spotify extension on Gemini?
The YouTube Music extension allows users to find music, start radio stations, and more, all directly from the Gemini AI chatbot. Something similar is expected from the Spotify integration too.
Well, you might be wondering how we know about this even when Google has not made any official confirmation regarding the same. According to an Android Authority report, a hidden code was spotted on the latest Google Android app update. It goes by the codename “Robin”. It not only mentions Gemini but also mentions Spotify and functionalities like playing music and signing in to a Spotify account. As per 9to5Google, the Google app versions 15.22.28.29 and 15.22.29.29 mention the code.

When will this feature roll out?
Even though the code has been spotted on the Google app, it doesn’t mean that it will turn into a reality pretty quickly. It means that the feature is under development and not yet live or usable. If we look at the trends, when Google introduced the YouTube Music integration, the code existed for some time before becoming functional.
Let’s wait and see when Google finally integrates Spotify with Gemini and how it ends up working. Until then, let’s take this news with a pinch of salt.
