Samsung tipped to integrate Galaxy AI-powered Live Translate into WhatsApp calling
HIGHLIGHTS

When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy AI with the Galaxy S24 series, a standout feature was Live Translate.

Currently, the caller must use the native Samsung dialer app for this feature to work, as other calling apps are not supported.

A tipster has revealed that Samsung is expected to integrate Galaxy AI-powered Live Translate into WhatsApp calling.

When Samsung introduced the Galaxy AI alongside the Galaxy S24 series, one of its most notable innovations was Live Translate, a feature designed to revolutionise communication. Live Translate enables seamless real-time translation during phone calls, breaking down language barriers instantly. Currently, the functionality of Live Translate is confined to Samsung’s native dialer app, limiting its accessibility to a broader audience.

A tipster has now revealed that Samsung is expected to integrate Galaxy AI-powered Live Translate into WhatsApp calling. This aligns with Samsung’s recent announcement to soon extend the power of Galaxy AI beyond Samsung’s own native calling app by expanding Live Translate to other third-party message apps to support voice calls.

The information came from popular tipster @UniverseIce, who wrote in an X post that “Galaxy AI will power WhatsApp real-time translation.”

When announcing the third-party message app support for Live Translate, Samsung clarified that since this feature has been integrated into the company’s on-device AI language translation model, users will be able to experience barrier-free communication without worrying about privacy issues like personal data being shared outside their phone when using Live Translate.
