If you're living in Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad or Faridabad, you can now travel for free for up to 15kms with Ola, till 4pm today. The catch in the tale: your pickup location has to be outside Delhi. To avail the offer, you need to open the Ola app, select ‘Ride Now’, and apply the code: ZERO.
Back in August, Ola had partnered with OnePlus to offer users a chance to try out the OnePlus 2. Ola users had a chance to win invites for the OnePlus 2. On a negative note, about a week ago, it was reported that Ola was sending private user information to others. Ola user Swapnil Midha posted on Facebook that the cab service had sent her the details of more than 300 users to her phone, via texts. The texts came from ‘VFM-OLACAB’, and although the information was in alphanumeric form, the name, location, as well as the contact number of users could easily be figured out. She claimed that Ola didn’t take any action despite being informed repeatedly.
In response to the issue, Ola Cabs has said, "“The alleged hack seems to have been performed on a staging environment when exposed for one of our test runs. The staging environment is on a completely different network compared to our production environment, and only has dummy user values exclusively used for internal testing purposes.”
