Netflix subscribers can now download content from the streaming service on their Windows 10 enabled PCs, laptops and save it for offline viewing.
Good news for all you streamers. Netflix has enabled downloads for offline viewing of its content on its Windows 10 app. The streaming service had earlier enabled the offline viewing feature for iOS and Android mobile devices.
Subscribers who wish to download content from Netflix for offline viewing on their PCs and laptops running Windows 10 will first have to download the app from the Windows store. There is no separate app available for macOS as of now, so MacBook and iMac users still can’t enjoy the download feature on Netflix.
As far as the content for offline viewing is concerned, most of Netflix’s original titles are available for download, including newer shows like 13 Reasons Why, Riverdale, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The OA and more. Surprisingly, Iron Fist, one of the most highly marketed shows of the service, is not available for offline viewing. Besides downloading TV shows, popular movies and documentary titles are also available for download. However, users should know that this content is DRM locked and will no longer be available if the Netflix app is ever deleted from the device.
The update is rolling out to all Windows 10 desktop users today. However, we are not sure if the feature will be enabled for Windows 10 mobile or the Xbox One versions of the app.
