Native BBM app on PlayBook pops up in leaked images
Leaked images that have surfaced on the internet suggests the PlayBook will be soon receiving a native BlackBerry Messenger application.
BlackBerry Messenger is one of the most missed features on the BlackBerry PlayBook platform. RIM never hinted at optimising BBM for the PlayBook OS.
But the recent images that surfaced on the web hint that the OS will be soon having the Messenger. RIM hasn’t yet confirmed the rumours.
Screenshots leaked via BBOTA.cn show the PlayBook OS with a native BBM app running on top of it. Check out a screenshot below:
The BlackBerry PlayBook does not come with a BBM app, and to use this app users need to use BlackBerry Bridge feature along with a BlackBerry smartphone to make it run. This means, if a user has only a PlayBook tablet, then there’s no scope of using the BBM service without a smartphone.
RIM is preparing for its BlackBerry 10 launch next year. The company is expected to roll out quite a few new features, applications and devices. The screenshots hint that RIM may be planning to update the PlayBook as well, and add a native app for this as well.
