How can the Microsoft Seeing AI app help?

So this app is basically an assistant for visually impaired people. It can read out everything around. It helps people identify products, give descriptions of photos, and a lot more. You get this app in 33 different languages, which Microsoft is planning to make 36 by the end of 2024. With the app, you get several options like product discovery using barcodes, currency identification, people recognition, document reading, etc.

In addition to this, the app allows you to scan photos of your friends and family, which you can name. Now when you scan the person on the app, it will identify the face of the person on the basis of its database and will then speak out the person’s name. You can even identify colours, read handwritten text, and share images on the app and it will then describe them for you.

But wait for the best part, the app even works when you are offline which means that users will not be stranded in case they lose internet access. There are still some minor lags here and there which Microsoft needs to iron out. But overall it’s a good effort in the right direction by the company.
