Facebook is not the only one copying Snapchat, Skype has decided to join the list too. Microsoft has launched a revamped version of Skype that copies features available on rival platforms including the Stories feature on Snapchat.
Skype is calling its stories as Highlights and offers one-tap access to the camera, similar to Instagram and Snapchat. The update rolling out first on Android devices is the first major redesign for Skype in a long time. The features will also make its way to iOS, Windows and Mac over the next few months.
The redesigned Skype app basically has three tabs: Highlights, Chats and Capture. With Highlights, Skype users can swipe to access their camera and then take a photo or record a video. Once posted, Skype contacts can see this highlight and react with emoticons. The update also revamps the chat window with one click access to conversations, bots and other add-ins. The feature was teased at Build 2017 and will rival the bots platform on Facebook Messenger.
