Meta has announced that it will not only introduce new features for the Facebook groups but will roll out a new update to the overall app. Now, Facebook will allow its users to share reels and videos with their communities via Groups and share information, tell stories, and better connect with group members. In addition, the group admins and members can also add creative elements such as audio, text overlay, and filters to their videos before posting them on Facebook. Another feature that the app will offer is that you can now share a public Facebook event as an Instagram story and inform others about a public event on Facebook using your Instagram story.
Facebook wrote in a blog post, “Whether you’re a group admin hosting a meet-up to celebrate a community milestone, or a group member sharing your passion with friends, this feature can help you showcase your community more broadly.”
Meta has also started testing the feature that will allow users to customize the About Me section and share information they want to share with their community. In addition, the company is testing an indicator that will appear alongside users’ profiles if they are open to connecting via the group. Finally, Meta is trying the view-only conversations option to send one-way communications to its members. The admins can also use an admin-only discussion option and create a channel.
