Meru cabs launches ICE ALERT mobile application to enhance customers safety during emergency.

Meru cabs has launched a new mobile application ‘ICE ALERT’ to enhance consumers security while travelling. The app comes with a location tracker for cabs via a live map. The app is available for free download from the Apple app store for iOS users and the Google Play store for Android users.

According to a press release by the company, the app allows instant cab bookings on the go making cab booking process much more convenient for the user. The service also allows users to contact their friends and family in case of emergency by just a touch of a button.

Users can register on the app and after logging in will be taken through an auto demo. The application identifies the customers location through GPS while booking a cab. Users can then add the drop location or select the drop location from ‘My Favourites which has the customers saved addresses history. Once the cab booking is confirmed, users can track the location of the cab through the GPS system on a map and can also call the cab driver directly if required. Users will also be able to retrieve receipts of previous trips and give feedback.

ICE Alert is a value added service in which customers add 2 contact numbers of family or friends, which will be sent an automatic message once the ‘ICE Alert’ option is selected. The customers emergency contact list will be able to view the exact location of the person for 30 minutes. This service can be used by the consumer at any given time and not only on booking a Meru Cab.

Commenting on the Meru Cab phone application launch, Mr. Siddhartha Pahwa, CEO, Meru cabs, stated at the launch of the app, “What’s truly unique about the application is that the ‘ICE Alert’ emergency option can be used by customers who have downloaded the application, not only while travelling in a Meru Cab, but at any given time, in any kind of emergency situation. We view the safety concerns of our customers very seriously and will continue to enhance our service offerings to give them more value.”
