Meta-owned Instagram has started testing an innovative collaboration feature that will allow your friends to add photos and videos to your feed posts. This feature will make content sharing more engaging and fun.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced on his Broadcast Channel, “New test alert. We just started testing a new way to invite friends to join in on your feed posts. Before posting a carousel, you can turn on the ability for your followers to submit photos and/or videos, which you can approve to add to the post.”

Mosseri also shared a screenshot of this new feature. According to the screenshot, your followers will see a new “Add to post” option in the lower left of your feed post.

In our opinion, the new collaboration feature on Instagram that will allow friends to contribute photos and videos to your feed posts has several benefits. With this feature, users will be able to create collaborative content with their friends, making it a more shared experience. Also, the new feature will allow the original poster to approve the photos and videos before they are added to the post. This will maintain some level of control over the content and ensure that only appropriate and desired contributions are included.
