In the bustling world of social media, connecting with friends and staying in the loop has become an important part of our daily lives. Meta-owned Instagram is one of the most used social networking platforms which helps us to stay connected with our friends and family.

According to the screenshots, the Friend Map feature will likely allow you to see your friends on a map. Also, you might be able to leave notes for only the Map to share what’s happening wherever you are.
The Friend Map will likely allow you to choose who can see your location on the map. You might have two options: To share your location with the followers you follow back, and to share your last active location with only your Close Friends.
It’s worth noting that your location is expected to be end-to-end encrypted.
Moreover, your location will only be updated on the Friend Map when you open Instagram, as per the screenshots. Similar to Snapchat’s Snap Map, Instagram’s Friend Map is expected to offer a ‘Ghost mode’ that will allow you to hide your last active location.
In our opinion, the option to choose who can see your location, as well as the availability of options like Ghost mode, ensures that users have control over their privacy and can decide who can see their location.
Also, with the ability to see friends’ locations in real-time, users can stay informed about their friends’ activities and whereabouts, fostering closer relationships.
