Instagram down: Meta’s social media platform is back after massive outage

Despite widespread reports, some users can still access stories and comments.

Instagram Down: Meta’s popular photo-sharing platform is experiencing an outage. Thousands of users around the world have reported issues while using the platform. Users have reported issues with viewing stories, posting comments, and reading them. However, Meta has yet to acknowledge the issue.

The real-time outage monitoring website Downdetector displays a red graph with over 2,000 reports in the United States and over 200 in India. More than half of the complaints are about the application, while 33% are about login issues and 16% are about server connections. However, we can see the comments and stories on Instagram.

While major complaints are about the Stories and Comments, the News Feed appears to be working fine. We are able to refresh the feed, scroll Reels or even put stories or posts on the Meta’s platform. This means, Meta might be facing a technical issue which has resulted in a semi Instagram outage. It is worth noting that the exact reason for the Instagram down remains unknown at the time of writing this article.

Just like every time, Instagram outage has sparked a meme fest on Elon Musk’s X with people trolling Instagram, Mark Zuckerberg for the disruptions. Some of them have even found humour in the situation and shared memes, funny videos and opinions on the platform.
