You can add 5 links to your Instagram profile bio: Here’s how

Meta has been working really hard to update Instagram with some new features. Creators and users have been making a lot of demand for it, no doubt. Recently a set of new features were added on Instagram to make things easier for content creators and another such feature has been added viz. adding more than one link to your Instagram profile. 

On Mark Zuckerberg’s broadcast channel, another new feature of Instagram was announced. According to Zuckerberg, this feature has been one of the most widely requested ones and he hopes that the creators and all Instagram users will be happy with it.

Instagram users are allowed to add up to five links to their account which would lead their followers to whatever they want them to check out like their online business, some video, Facebook profile, LinkedIn profile, YouTube account, any organisation, any donation drive.

Zuckerberg makes it seem like it has been a requested feature and Meta is doing a great job by solving this. But, the truth is it has been an instance of failure and lack of satisfying the people's needs all through the years.

So, after this change the companies who came into existence to make it simple for people like Linktree, Beacons etc. might be under some threat. But Meta has confirmed that it has no intent of blocking any Linktree links or any link-in-bio platforms. That can also happen because a tweet by Linktree suggests that Meta itself uses one of its links. 

How to use Instagram bio links feature? 

For adding multiple links to your profile, these steps are to be followed –

First, open your Instagram app, go to your profile and then tap on 'edit profile.'

Once the options appear, look for the option saying 'links' and tap on that.

Then another drop down menu appears, there tap on 'add external link' 

Now, you can drag and drop the links there or just copy paste it in your preferred order of appearance.

Following  these steps would help you in adding multiple links to your account pretty easily. All exterior links can be added. But of course, not any and every link can be added. Whatever link you want to include, is scanned to ensure that it follows the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service of Meta. 

One small technicality is that, once you tap on the link, it doesn't open on your default browser instead it will open inside Instagram. If you want to open the link on your desired browser, then you will have to tap the three-dot menu option at the top right corner and choose the option of 'open in system browser.'
