The 'Super App' will integrate popular applications like IRCTC Rail Connect, Rail Madad, and more.
The app is a result of a joint effort by the CRIS in collaboration and IRCTC.
A senior railway official confirmed that the 'Super App' would offer key features such as ticket bookings.
To make traveling more convenient, Indian Railways is gearing up to launch a new app. It is called ‘Super App’ and will cater to most of the needs one has while traveling by the Indian Railways. Super App will consolidate multiple railway services into one unified platform. It is expected to be released by the end of the financial year 2024-24.
Right now, Indian Railways passengers have to use multiple apps for different things like ticket booking, train schedules, inquiries, and complaints. The ‘Super App’ will integrate popular applications like IRCTC Rail Connect, Rail Madad, National Train Enquiry System (NTES), UTS, and Food on Track, among others in one place. It reduces the need to download multiple apps and saves some space too.
The app is a result of a joint effort by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) in collaboration and IRCTC. A senior railway official confirmed that the ‘Super App’ would offer key features such as ticket bookings (both reserved and unreserved), live train status updates, onboard cleaning requests, complaint redressal, travel insurance options, and even food ordering facilities from designated stations. The app will be made available for both Android and iOS.
Currently, multiple apps exist to cater to the needs of Indian Railways’ passengers:
- RCTC Rail Connect app
- Rail Saarth
- National Train Enquiry System
- Rail Madad
- UTS
- Food on Track
This move by the Indian Railways aligns with it to ensure passenger convenience and operational efficiency. With over six existing apps for various services, the ‘Super App promises a unified interface to millions of passengers daily.
An official launch date for the app is still awaited. We will update you with the same.
