Google has rolled out its Gemini chatbot to smartphones, meaning you have a dedicated app for Google Gemini now. I downloaded the app on my Android phone as soon as I got to know about this, and I liked a few things here. Now, unlike ChatGPT’s app, the Google Gemini app offers more features along with contextual conversation. What are these features? Read along.

2 cool Google Gemini app features you’d like in your Android

So, let’s start from the start. After downloading the app, when you open it, it will ask you to switch your Google Assistant with Gemini. And I did that. What additional features does it offer? Well, one of them is that you can generate AI pictures by just saying “Hey Google”! Yeah, that’s cool but I’ll explain this briefly in the end. So after switching to Gemini, I was done setting up the chatbot and was ready to use it. That’s when I saw the camera icon in the text box. Now this feature can work as an alternative option for Google’s Circle to Search for those who don’t have it in their Android phones.

I clicked two pictures and asked Gemini about them. Here are the responses:

What really impressed me is that you can send a picture to the Google Gemini app, and it will respond to you with real-time information or not at all.

Coming to its next cool feature. As I mentioned above, you can now generate AI images by just saying “Hey Google” to your Android phone. Switching from Google Assistant to Gemini allows you to create custom images and write emails, posts, and more.

I asked the Google Gemini app to create an image of a robot running in Wyoming and here are the results:

These are two really helpful and cool features of the Google Gemini App, that can upgrade your budget Android phone with AI, as currently, AI is only available on expensive phones. It is available on the Google Play Store, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find it on the Apple App Store. Maybe, the app is still in the rolling phase for Apple devices.
