WhatsApp has introduced a new view-once voice messages feature.

Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp has announced that it is rolling out a new view-once voice messages feature for added privacy. This feature will allow users to send self-destructing voice messages that vanish after being heard.
“We introduced View Once for photos and videos back in 2021 to add another layer of privacy to your messages. Today, we’re excited to announce you can now send a voice message that will disappear once listened to,” the company announced in a blogpost on December 7.

You can now securely share sensitive information, such as credit card details with a friend or discuss surprise plans, by utilising voice messages for added peace of mind.

How to send view-once voice messages in WhatsApp
Step 1: Open the WhatsApp app.
Step 2: Open an individual or group chat.
Step 3: Hold and swipe up the microphone icon.
Step 4: The audio will start recording, and you will see the “view-once” option (displayed as “1” within a circle) on the left side.
Step 5: Now, tap the view-once option. When this turns green, you’re in view-once mode.
Step 6: Finally, hit the Send icon.
