The game has become so popular that it has actually increased the value of phones after getting discontinued from Android and iOS app stores.
The game became a hit and disappeared from app stores; all this happened in a week. Even though Flappy Bird won’t be available on either Android or iOS anymore, users can still get it; if they bought a used phone with the tapping game already installed. But here’s the catch; the phone will probably cost them a fortune.
The game has become so popular that phones with the game preinstalled on it, have been selling for around $300. eBay sellers are exploiting the popularity of the game and selling their phones at higher prices.
Now the most bizarre auction was an iPhone 5 that was on sale for $90,000. Funny as it may sound, the listing actually had 62 bids (which can obviously be fake bids). The phone is reported to have started at $750 and now will likely cross $100k till the end of the bid on Monday.
The game was available for free when it was live. The developer of the game decided to take the game off app stores because it was “ruining his simple life.”
