Recently, the Meta-owned social media platform Facebook announced the global expansion of Professional Mode for individuals who want to become creators. The Professional Mode has new features that unlock "more monetisation opportunities and tools to support creator growth" on Facebook.
To build an audience, the Professional Mode provides features like Recommendations that recommends users’ content to users, Top Fans that highlights most engaged followers, Invites that creates direct invites to ask people to follow, and Collabs that enable creators to work with others to co-author posts.
The Professional Mode includes a handful of features, including Reels Play, a bonus program for creators based in the United States, Stars that can be sent and received on Facebook, and in-stream ads on long-form videos. Facebook is also testing Ads on Facebook Reels. Last but not least, the platform is introducing paid Subscriptions.
Professional Mode users also get a Professional Dashboard to manage all the tools and settings in one place. This hub allows them to view profile insights, content performance, engagements, reactions and more. Then there are tools like Post Composer, Creator Support Hub, and Moderation assist that will help users throughout their creation journey.
With Professional Mode, users can use professional tools to build a public following, earn money from various monetisation programs, and connect with their audience in more meaningful ways. However, that is just one side of it. Earlier, Facebook did not release the feature for individuals; it was limited to Pages.
Now that the platform is expanding the feature, it wants more users to choose Facebook as their primary platform for creating content. Nevertheless, Facebook says that the Professional Mode will allow users to "build a global audience of followers while still staying connected to friends and family from" their personal profile.
