DropBox, the cloud based storage service plans to launch an app for Microsoft’s latest OS, Windows 8.
Speaking at the LeWeb conference in Paris, Aditya Agarwal, DropBox’s vice president of engineering said, “We are going to be launching our client app for Windows 8.” The app will not only work like the traditional desktop version of DropBox, but also with the new touchscreen interface of Windows 8. The app will work on both Windows 8 as well as Windows RT (including the surface tablets).
Microsoft already has its own cloud based storage service called SkyDrive that makes it easy to integrate content on your Windows Phone device and the desktop.
DropBox is one of the most popular cloud based storage services that offers 2GB free storage for personal use that can go up to 18GB (500MB per reference provided).
