Meta has launched AI Studio, a new Instagram feature that allows users to design and personalise their own AI-driven digital characters, offering a blend of creativity and artificial intelligence. This move underscores Meta’s commitment to enhancing digital interactions and making AI more accessible and tailored to individual tastes.

“Built with Llama 3.1, AI Studio lets anyone create and discover AI characters and allows creators to build an AI as an extension of themselves to reach more fans,” Meta announced.

It’s important to note that AI Studio is currently rolling out in the US only. With AI Studio, US users can create AI characters at ai.meta.com/ai-studio or in the Instagram app.

You can use a diverse range of prompt templates or start from scratch to create an AI tailored to your needs—whether it’s a virtual cooking instructor, a helper for crafting Instagram captions, or a meme generator to amuse your friends. The possibilities are truly limitless. Your custom AI can be designed for personal use, shared with your followers, or even made available for anyone to interact with across platforms like Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and the web. 

You have the freedom to personalise your AI character’s name, personality, tone, avatar, and tagline.

With AI Studio, Instagram creators can set up a personalised AI that acts as an extension of themselves, efficiently handling common direct message inquiries and story replies. Also, creators have the ability to tailor their AI based on their Instagram content, specify topics to avoid, and choose links for the AI to share. Through the professional dashboard in the Instagram app, creators can easily manage auto-replies and control who receives them. Additionally, responses from creator AIs are clearly labelled, ensuring complete transparency for fans.
