Apple takes pride in its ecosystem and the connecting platforms that it has built. Even Apple fans for that matter are very vocal about these features. Take the ‘Find My’ device for example. A lot of people vouch for it and a recent case from Connecticut proves why. A 2023 Ferrari model which is valued at $575,000 got stolen. Because of Apple’s Find My technology, it was traced back and found. The owner of the said Ferrari had left their AirPods back in the Ferrari which was stolen. The incident occurred on September 16 in Greenwich, Connecticut. Using Apple’s ‘Find My’ tracking feature, the Waterbury Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force was able to locate the stolen car at a gas station on South Main Street.

When the suspect was pulled over, he fled from the scene but the car was successfully recovered. So the victim leaving their AirPods in the car became a saviour. Had it not been for these AirPods, it wouldn’t have been that easy to track the car.

The case highlights how efficient Apple’s Find My network is. It acts as an additional layer of security. People can even use AirTags for their valuables as it is comparatively cheaper and if they lose a precious thing, they can easily track it back.
