In the ever-evolving world of streaming, Amazon Prime Video is stepping up its game. The platform, known for its vast array of content, is rolling out a series of updates aimed at making your viewing experience smoother and more intuitive.

Here’s a look at what’s new and how these changes will make your streaming experience better than ever.

Content-forward navigation bar and single-click access to titles with the hero rotator

Amazon Prime Video releases enhanced streaming experience: Here's what's new

When you open Prime Video, you’ll see a new navigation bar that makes it easier to find what you want to watch. It has clear sections like “Home,” “Movies,” “TV Shows,” “Sports,” and “Live TV.” If you have extra subscriptions like Max or Paramount+, you’ll see them there too.

There’s also a new “Prime” section where you can find all the content available for free with your Prime membership. This includes movies, TV shows, sports, and live broadcasts. Here, you can also find information about other Prime benefits available in your country, such as exclusive deals and benefits.

Below the navigation bar, there’s a hero rotator showcasing content available to watch with a subscription, rent, or buy. It also highlights special promotions, Prime member deals, and subscription bundles. You can easily play, purchase, or subscribe to content directly from this section, making it simple to start watching your favourite shows and movies.

Explore, sign up, and manage add-on subscriptions

You can now easily browse, sign up, and manage your active add-on subscriptions right from the navigation bar.  In India, you can explore more than 20 add-on subscriptions by selecting “Subscriptions.” This section shows what you’re already subscribed to and recommends new options based on your preferences, past rentals, and viewing history. You’ll also see deals and discounted bundles from third-party services, all in one convenient place.

Improved recommendations and clarity around Prime membership content

Amazon Prime Video releases enhanced streaming experience: Here's what's new

Personalised recommendations have always been a key part of Prime Video. Now, with help from Generative AI, these features are even better, making it easier to find content that suits you. You’ll see “Made for You” collections in the “Movies” and “TV Shows” sections. Rather than showing content from specific add-on subscriptions and different purchase options, Prime Video will simplify things by grouping titles tailored to your interests.

It’s now simpler to see what’s included with your Prime membership and what costs extra. Prime and add-on subscription logos, like Lionsgate Play or Crunchyroll, will be on the hero and title cards of movies and TV shows. If you need to pay extra for a title, a yellow shopping bag icon will be shown.

Additionally, Prime Video is using Large Language Models (LLMs) to simplify the descriptions for TV shows and movies. This means you can quickly read a title’s synopsis to decide if it’s something you want to watch without having to scroll.

Simple and intuitive streaming experience

You can look forward to new animations, smooth page transitions, and zoom effects that make streaming more enjoyable and seamless. When using a living room device, video content will play in the hero rotator as you browse, creating an immersive experience. On the “Live TV” section, recommended 24/7 stations will automatically start playing and will continue as you switch to full screen or browse other stations.

Prime Video has optimised the experience for all devices, including older models, ensuring everyone can enjoy these enhancements.
