Reprise the magic of classic Amar Chitra Katha comics and the current favourites through a Windows 8 app downloadable on the Windows 8 store
Amar Chitra Katha Pvt. Ltd. in association with Microsoft India officially introduced ‘ACK COMICS’, the first digital comic store app of Amar Chitra Katha, exclusively for the Windows 8 platform at Day 1 of Comic Con India, Mumbai, 2013. This app will let users to browse, purchase and download the titles from Amar Chitra Katha, instantly.
With the launch of ACK Comics app for the Windows 8 platform, the company is planning to have a direct connection and interaction with millions of comic book readers and graphic novel enthusiasts who are ready to dive into an ocean of Indian storytelling.

The Amar Chitra Katha app is a great way to introduce kids born in the last decade to some of the iconic original comic art and graphic novels sold under the Amar Chitra Katha banner throughout the 1980s and ‘90s.
Speaking at the venue, Manas Mohan, the Chief Operating Officer at ACK Media, had this to say:
“We are very excited about the launch of ACK Comics, Amar Chitra Katha’s first digital comic store app in association with Microsoft. We have always been pioneering new avenues and media channels to tell our stories. Digitalization of Amar Chitra Katha was the next step towards making our comics available to the net savvy Gen Z.
As it can be observed, the titles have received massive changes in terms of readability and Amar Chitra Katha is eager to provide its users a convenient digital reading experience on the go.
Also speaking at the launch, Vineet Durani, Director of Windows Phone Business Group, Microsoft India, said:
“At Microsoft, we are constantly looking for ways to boost the apps offering and make it more relevant for the consumer. This is yet another step in that direction. Amar Chitra Katha comics are an Indian childhood staple and we are sure consumers will be delighted with the addition of this app to their tablets and notebooks.”

Talking about ACK Comics app, it offers more than 200 Amar Chitra Katha’s titles to its readers. Five comics including Shakuntala, Birbal the Wise, Tirupati, Tenzing Norgay and Anant Pai will be available free of cost for the first month. As comics are not available FREE to access, it gives readers an option to purchase titles directly within an application.
