Key features of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat
- AI chat powered by GPT-4o: Users can perform tasks like market research, strategy planning, and content creation with the help of AI. The chat is secure and designed for business use, ensuring data privacy.
- Agents for automation: Using natural language, now anyone can easily create agents to automate repetitive tasks and business processes—directly in Copilot Chat. A customer service representative can ask a customer relationship management (CRM) agent for account details before a customer meeting, while field service agents can access step-by-step instructions and real-time product knowledge stored in SharePoint. Agents are priced on a metered basis, and IT stays in control.
- Copilot Control System: The Copilot Control System forms the backbone of Copilot Chat, offering essential features such as Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) to ensure data privacy and security.

How it differs from Microsoft 365 Copilot
While Copilot Chat offers foundational AI capabilities, Microsoft 365 Copilot remains the premium option. It integrates deeply with Microsoft apps like Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, using data from meetings, emails, and documents to provide personalised assistance.
“While Copilot Chat is a powerful new on-ramp for everyone in your organization to build the AI habit, Microsoft 365 Copilot remains our best-in-class personal AI assistant for work,” the tech giant said.
