The 20th edition of the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) and Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) awards recognized the Mahindra Thar Roxx and Aprilia RS 457 as the best in their respective segments for 2025. Other winners included the Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the Premium Car category and the MG Windsor for the Green Car award.
The judging process for ICOTY and IMOTY involved a panel of 28 experts from leading automotive publications. The contenders were assessed based on factors such as design, price, fuel efficiency, safety, performance and innovation.
ICOTY 2025 Winner: Mahindra Thar Roxx
The Mahindra Thar Roxx was awarded the Indian Car of the Year 2025 and the runner up was Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Other ICOTY finalists were, BYD eMAX 7, Citroen Basalt, Mahindra Thar Roxx, Maruti Suzuki Swift, MG Windsor, Tata Curvv/Curvv EV, and Tata Punch EV.
IMOTY 2025 Winner: Aprilia RS 457
In the motorcycle segment, the Aprilia RS 457 emerged as the winner of the Indian Motorcycle of the Year 2025 and Hero Xtreme 125R was the Runner-up. The selection was based on its capabilities and performance, which stood out among the contenders.
Special Categories Recognised
The Premium Car Award, which was introduced in 2019 to acknowledge the growing demand for high-end vehicles, was awarded to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Green Car Award was given to the MG Windsor.
