You have to make sure that your Apple Watch is running on the latest version of the WatchOS software all the time. You can go to the Apple Watch App on your iPhone. Then go to My Watch > General > Software Update. If a software update is required then you should connect your iPhone to WiFi. Make sure your Apple Watch has at least 50% battery, attach it to the charger, and update the software.

You should keep an eye on the battery usage information of your Apple Watch. To do this, go to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and then go to My Watch > General > Usage.
If in case you are using a USB to charge your Apple Watch then make sure that the computer is on and not in the sleep mode and also make sure that it is plugged in. Apple Watch battery might drain if your computer is in sleep mode, or turned off.
