Is your Android phone not charging? Here’s how to fix it

Smartphones today are something that we just cannot live without. These small devices hold our entire world, if not more. However, if these smartphones run out of battery, then it’s a nightmare of its own. And if your smartphone is not even charging, then it seems like your whole world has come crashing down. I am sure all of us have found ourselves in such a situation once. If your smartphone isn’t charging, then you’re at the right place. Here are some hacks that you can try to get your smartphone to charge again.

10 tips to fix your phone’s charging

Follow these steps if your smartphone isn’t charging anymore:

  1. First up, you need to take off the cover of your smartphone. It is likely that your smartphone’s cover is acting as an obstruction around the port and your charging cable is not able to connect properly. You might be able to charge again once you remove the cover.
  1. Sometimes when our smartphones are exposed to water, then too they might stop charging. If there’s water in your charging port, then most smartphones don’t charge. Make sure that you have dried out your smartphone carefully before trying to charge your smartphone again.
  1. These days, temperatures know no bounds, and naturally, our smartphones heat too. Sometimes because of overheating, smartphones don’t charge to protect the battery. If this is the case, then try moving your device to a cooler place and allow it to cool down before charging again.
  1. There is an obvious possibility that if your smartphone is not charging then there can be an issue with the charging brick or wire. You can try charging your device with a different charger/cable.
  1. You should also check if your power source is working or not. If there is an issue with the power source, then also your smartphone might not charge.
  1. At times, it is even possible that there’s dust and other residues that are stuck in your charging port. If that’s the case then you should carefully remove it with a soft tool like a plastic toothpick, or use compressed air.
  1. Try closing all the apps that are running in the background. Sometimes these apps can drain a lot of battery eventually causing the battery to discharge even while plugged in.
  1. If nothing works and your smartphone supports wireless charging then you can try that.
  1. If your battery is pretty old then that might also be a cause. You can only charge your smartphone a certain number of times.

And lastly, if nothing works, then try contacting your brand’s customer care.
