All of us have come across a situation in our lives when we’ve had to deal with the “phone storage full” situation on our smartphones. We cannot easily change the smartphones and often don’t know what to delete in order to create that extra space. Not having space makes it super annoying to use our smartphones as we cannot take new pictures, download or update apps, and other tasks also become slower. Have you faced this issue too?
Today I am going to tell you how you can clearing phone memory for smooth functionality and an annoyance-free experience. Read along.
More than often, our Gallery stores so many unwanted files that we might not need and might have forgotten about too. It is important for us to clear the cluttered gallery and delete those unwanted screenshots, blurry images, duplicate photos, and anything which is not needed now.
It will be easier to do so if you go to specific albums. Go to the specific albums for “Screenshots”, “Instagram”, “Videos” etc and delete the unnecessary stuff. You can even delete the entire folder if it is of no use. Make this a routine practice.
In addition to this, go to your trash folder and delete the files from there too, to create the extra space.

You have both a hardware as well as a software cache on your device that stores data. If you do not clear your cache from time to time it will accumulate unwanted data and eventually eat up on your storage space. So make sure that you clear your app cache frequently. You should also clear your browser cache. Simply go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
Some apps such as YouTube, Netflix, Spotify etc allow users to download content on their devices to watch it as per their convenience. We download such stuff, watch it once, and forget about its existence. But these files are usually really heavy and take up a lot of internal storage. Make sure you keep an eye on such downloads and keep on removing them from time to time.
When you open your files app, you will see that various miscellaneous files have been downloaded on your system. Now, unfortunately, you cannot select all files and delete them as certain files could even relate to various aspects of your smartphone too, such as apps and operating systems.
Just simply go to the files app, then Internal Storage, and then you’ll see files from deleted apps, old voice notes, or unwanted ringtones. Delete those.

While cleaning out your gallery you might have noticed some automatically downloaded files from WhatsApp etc. These take up a substantial amount of space on your device without even your knowledge. You can avoid this by turning the setting off in the first place.
To disable it on WhatsApp, go to Settings>Chats>Save to Camera Roll and then toggle it off.
Similarly for Snapchat, go to Settings > Memories > Save Button and turn off your automatic saving settings.
