Twitter Spaces can be now shared with your fellow Twitter users. This will make Spaces more accessible. Even the fact that sharing a 30-second clip is easy adds to this accessibility part. The catch is that the extracted clip expires after 30 days. Also, for the moment, the feature is being released on iOS and Android only. The web version will be coming soon though. So, let’s understand the new feature better.
Twitter Spaces, for the unversed, is a Clubhouse-inspired audio-only conversation feature that’s part of the blue-bird platform. You can be part of Twitter Spaces as a host, speaker, or listener. To host and speak in the Spaces, you have to use the feature on iOS and Android. On the web, you can only listen to the talks. It is open to one and all.
Now once you have had your session, if you want to promote the thing again, that’s where the new feature comes in.
But before that, you may also come across Twitter Live Spaces. And if you wonder what that is, here’s what you need to know:
Twitter Live Spaces are live audio conversations that are public and anyone can join them. You can either quietly listen to the conversation or request to speak and once approved, talk.
Now coming back to the topic at hand, and how it works:
Twitter has enabled the option to share 30-second bytes of lengthy Spaces with anyone. And, here’s how clipping a Twitter Spaces work:
1. Go to the recorded Twitter Spaces.
2. Tap on the scissor option on the bottom bar.
3. Choose the 30-second portion of the audio.
4. Click Next and share it with the Twitter audience.
That’s all.
