- Step 1: Open your WhatsApp and tap on the settings
- Step 2: Find the chats option and open
- Step 3: Turn off media visibility

- Step 1: Open your WhatsApp and tap on the settings
- Step 2: Click on the chats and tap on an individual or group chat
- Step 3: Tap the contact or group name to see contact info or group info
- Step 4: Choose media visibility No and click on OK

How to stop auto-download on iPhone
- Step 1: Open your WhatsApp and tap on the settings
- Step 2: Find the Chats option and open
- Step 3: Turn off saved to Photos
How to turn off auto-download from specific chats or groups
- Step 1: Open your WhatsApp and tap on the settings
- Step 2: Click on the chats and tap on an individual or group chat
- Step 3: Tap the contact or group name to see contact or group info
- Step 4: Choose Save to Photos and select Never
How to create a folder to hide all your WhatsApp photos in the gallery
- Step 1: Download a file explorer from the Google Play Store
- Step 2: In the file explorer, go to images/WhatsApp images
- Step 3: Create a file named .nomedia, including the period
- Step 4: If you want to view your hidden photos in your phone gallery later, simply delete the .nomedia file
It is worth noting that changing this setting would not affect any previous auto-download choices you have made for specific chats or groups. On Android, files are automatically saved in your WhatsApp media folder, in your local storage.
