How To Port Your Airtel Mobile Connection To A Jio Number: Follow These Simple 4 Steps

Jio provides a relatively high Mbps speed and also has some nice offers. With Jio customers get a chance to choose from a varied range of prepaid and postpaid options. The internet plans with Reliance Jio offer Disney+Hotstar VIP access and also subscriptions to some Jio applications. With these many features associated with Jio, if you plan to port from Airtel to Jio to get better network coverage and other features, you can follow the below mentioned steps.
In order to port your Airtel mobile connection to the Jio number, you can do two things- buy a Reliance Jio number or you can also port your current number to Jio.
Before you port from Airtel to Jio keep in mind that you have paid your bill and your Airtel Sim Card has exceeded 90 days.
Documents required for the porting process:
To start the process of porting you need to make sure that you have submitted the necessary documents which are needed for your identity verification and also that you have no due amount (only for postpaid). Documents which need to be carried along:
1. If you are a postpaid customer, don’t forget to carry the last bill of payment.
2. For your identity and address proof, carry your Aadhar card with you.
3. Apart from aadhar card, you can also carry your Voter ID card, Driving License or even your Passport.
4. You have to also carry two passport sized photographs.
There is no need to produce the bill receipts when porting from Airtel this makes the process easier. You can also request fro SIM port when you are existing from the Airtel Net Pack or also when your recharge plan is about to end. This will make sure that you will not lose any service for which you paid.

In order to start the port from Airtel to Jio, you can do so by initiating a port request through the MNP services. You can access this via USSD code.
Firstly, open your messaging app, then type a message to 1900.
Secondly, type PORT, then press space, then add your 10-digit mobile number and then send it.

Your mobile phone will receive an SMS with your Unique POrting Code (UPC). after you have received your UPC you can now go to a Jio store to complete the porting process along with the documents which are mentioned below in the third step.

Carry the following mentioned documents which will be required when you go to the store:
1. Copy of your address proof.
2. Two passport size photographs.
3. Copy of your ID proof (aadhar card, Voter ID, Driving License or Passport)
4. A photocopy of the last bill of your Airtel number (for postpaid users only)
The customer care personnel at the store will help you with the porting process. You will be asked to fill out a Customer Agreement Form (CAF) after the customer care person asks for your UPC which your mobile phone received earlier.
Rs.19 universal charge will be charged with the other plans you wish to pick when you will apply for Jio services.
After everything is done, you will be provided with your Jio SIM card which will get activated within 4-7 days (time taken to activate your documents). In the meantime, your Airtel SIM would be working until your Jio SIM starts functioning.

You will get a final SIM confirmation message on your Airtel number, keep the code as you will use it.
Now open your mobile phone’s SIM port replace your old Airtel SIM with your new Jio SIM and then restart your device.
Once your phone starts, dial 1977 in order to verify the code on a call and then your Jio mobile connection is activated.
