HIGHLIGHTS

I would recommend that you use your PC instead of your smartphone to do this.

We might not be aware of this at times but our Google accounts sometimes store some huge files.

Spam emails occupy a lot of space on our Gmail account.

Gmail is an essential app for us all. We need our emails for almost everything that we do on the web. However, the issue with Gmail now is that it has restricted free storage. It only provides us with 15GB of free space across all Google accounts. With the limited storage in hand, we often run out of storage, which eventually leads to us being unable to send or receive important mail. Google tells us that the best way out of this to continue a smooth experience is to purchase more storage space. But is it essential? Today I am going to tell you tricks that you can use when you run out of storage on your Google account and you won’t even have to purchase any subscriptions.

How to free up space on a Google Account?

I would recommend that you use your PC instead of your smartphone to do this to make the job easier.

Deleting Big Files

We might not be aware of this at times but our Google accounts sometimes store some huge files that we might not even need. If we delete these large files then we can create some storage on our Google account. To do this:

Step 1: Go to Google Drive.
Step 2: Click on the “Storage” icon on the left side of the screen.
Step 3: It automatically lists your files from largest to smallest. However, if that is not the case then you can tap on “Storage Used” to sort the files from largest to smallest.
Step 4: Now select the large files that you wish to delete and delete them.
Step 5: On the left-hand side menu, you will see the Trash menu. Tap on “Empty trash” and then “Delete forever.”

Step 3: You will then be shown all the emails that have attachments of over 10MB. You can then delete these.
Step 4: After this, go to the Trash Menu on the left and then click on “ Empty trash now.”
