Occasionally, you come across a situation wherein you have to send a message to someone on WhatsApp without saving their phone number. You may want to share your location with the courier guy or something similar to that effect, but you don’t want to save the other person’s mobile number. In such cases, these simple tricks can come in handy. Yes, there is more than one way to send WhatsApp messages without saving the number and we have listed them here.

How to do this using the Official WhatsApp Link (Android and iOS)

  • Visit: http://wa.me/91xxxxxxxxxx but replace the Xes with your 10-digit mobile number. You have to prefix the phone number with the country code of the number. Here, it is 91 which is the country code for India.
  • Once you enter the link with the proper phone number and country code prefix, you will be taken to a WhatsApp page. Here, either you will be prompted to open the WhatsApp app automatically or just tap on the green-coloured ‘Continue to Chat’ button which will redirect you to the messaging app.

So, you can drop a message or have a long WhatsApp chat without saving number. 

How to do this using the WhatsApp Unsaved Number Siri Shortcut (iOS only)

  • Visit this iCloud link and click on ‘Get Shortcut’. This will add the WhatsApp Unsaved Number option to the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
  • You can open the Shortcuts app from the iOS App Library and access this feature now within the list of All Shortcuts. Else, you can also quickly find this within the Shortcuts widget in the Widgets Library on the right side of the iOS home screen.
  • Now, all you need to do is tap on the WhatsApp Unsaved Number shortcut which will run it and prompt you to enter the phone number along with the country code prefix. Hit enter.

You will be directed to the WhatsApp chat window and you can message the person without saving the number.

How to do this by disabling Contact Sharing With WhatsApp on iPhones (iOS only)

  • Uncheck WhatsApp’s access to Contacts within iOS Settings > Privacy menu > Contacts option.
  • Now, when you open the WhatsApp app, you will see just numbers for even the saved contacts on your device as you have restricted the Contacts Sharing. You can simply tap on the Messaging icon in the top right corner and see an interface wherein you have to enter the 10-digit phone number and start chatting without saving that number. Ensure the country code is correctly selected before you ‘Start a Chat’.

This way you get to Whatsapp message without adding contact.

How to do this by using the Easy Message app (Android only)

You just have to download and install the Easy Message App from the Google Play Store. Open the app and enter the mobile number with the country code. Press on ‘Start Chat in WhatsApp’. This is an easy method to direct whatsapp without saving number but ensure to read the data and privacy policies of the developer before you use it.
