Updated on 14-Nov-2024

The pandemic has transformed our workspaces from physical offices to virtual ones, teaching us that meetings can happen anywhere. As a working professional, you’ve likely found that setting up virtual meetings and waiting for confirmations can be a time-consuming process.

WhatsApp, a go-to app on most people’s phones, includes a feature called “Events” that simplifies scheduling. This feature allows you to schedule calls directly within WhatsApp, making it easier to set up virtual meetings without juggling multiple apps. If this sounds like a game-changer, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to schedule calls on WhatsApp.

How to schedule calls on WhatsApp

Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your phone.
Step 2: Go to the group where you want to schedule the call.
Step 3: Tap on the paperclip icon in the message bar and click “Event”.
Step 4: Now select “Create Event,” enter the event name and set the date and time.
Step 5: Turn on the toggle if you want the meeting to be held via link and tap the “Send” icon.

And you’ve skipped the long process of creating external links for Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom meeting rooms. Now, once you have scheduled the meeting in any WhatsApp Group, all members of that group will receive a notification to join the call at the scheduled time.

This WhatsApp feature “Event”  is only available for scheduling meetings in groups, you cannot schedule with your contacts. But, don’t worry, there is an alternative feature called “Call Link” that lets you create a call link and send it to your contacts.
