Step 1: Tap the arrow icon or the Messenger icon present at the top right corner of the feed.

Step 2: Open the chat of the person who you want to block.

Step 3: Tap the person’s name at the top of your chat.

Step 4: Tap the Options button.

Step 5: Select the Block/Unblock option, then tap again to confirm.

How to block or unblock someone on Instagram from settings

Step 1: Open the Instagram app.

Step 2: Tap your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.

Step 3: Tap the three horizontal lines present at the top right corner.

Step 4: Select the Settings and privacy option.

Step 5: Below Who can see your content, tap the Blocked option.

Step 6: To unblock someone, tap Unblock to the right of their name. Tap Unblock again to confirm.

Step 7: In order to add someone to your blocked accounts list, tap the plus icon present at the top right corner and search for the person that you want to block. Tap Block to the right of their name.

Step 1: Navigate to the person’s profile whom you want to block.

Step 2: Tap the three dots present at the top right corner.

Step 3: Hit Block.

What happens when you block someone on Instagram

1. When you block someone on Instagram, their likes and comments will be removed from your photos and videos. It’s important to note that unblocking someone won’t restore their previous likes and comments.
2. Blocked people can still see your likes and comments on posts that were shared by public accounts or accounts they follow.
3. After you block someone, your messaging threads with them will remain in your inbox, but you won’t be able to message them.
4. If you’re in a group message with someone you’ve blocked, you will be asked whether you want to stay in the group or leave. If you choose to stay in the group, you’ll be able to see messages from the person you blocked in the group.
5. If you have a Facebook account that isn’t set up in the Accounts Center, the account you blocked will still be able to message or call your Facebook account, unless you also block them on Facebook.
