Here’s what Airtel Xstream Fiber has to offer
Airtel has constantly been improving its Xstream service since its launch last year. The service is the new face of entertainment for the telecom giant and is divided into three distinct categories to cater to the different users and their different ways of consuming content. This includes the Airtel Xstream DTH Box, Airtel Xstream Stick and Airtel Xstream App. The telco has added another service to the Xstream suit called Airtel Xstream Fiber, which is the rebranded name for their broadband service. Since it's the base of all the other Xstream services, the name only makes sense.
Having said that, it isn’t just a name change for the sake of change. Airtel is rapidly upgrading its existing copper wire connections to fibre optic cable. Not only is fibre optic cable more reliable than traditional copper cables, but it also allows for faster speeds. How fast you ask? Well, how does 1Gbps sound?
That’s right, with the new service, Airtel Xstream Fiber subscribers can enjoy top-notch speeds of up to 1Gbps. This would result in faster download speeds, a smoother and higher quality streaming experience, better gaming and much more. If you are the ones who are planning on working from home for the next couple of weeks, this is especially good news because we all know how frustrating slow internet can get when you're trying to have a video conference. With faster speeds, Airtel Xstream Fiber also promises a dedicated fibre line to your home, so you won’t have to worry about sharing your speeds with others, thereby ensuring you enjoy the same speeds that were promised to you.
There's more. Subscribers also get a Wi-Fi router that aims to intelligently resolve any Wi-Fi issues remotely. Now you won’t have to wait for someone to come over to your place to fix minor issues. The router is complimentary with the service could help minimize any ‘dead-zones’ in the house.
Of course, the router isn’t the only freebie subscribers get when they opt for Airtel Xstream Fiber. They also get a free landline connection that offers unlimited national calling. They can also enjoy unlimited data service with a Rs 299 top-up. Other free services include subscriptions to Amazon Prime, ZEE5 and the Airtel Xstream app that hosts over 10,000 movies and shows.
Of course, having a Wi-Fi router at home, while also being an Airtel mobile subscriber also brings other benefits. Most notable is Airtel’s new Wi-Fi Calling feature. This service helps improve indoor calling by piggybacking on the existing Wi-Fi signal. This means that you should always be able to make a call when you are connected to the Wi-Fi connection in your home, without the need to download a separate app or signup for a new service.
On top of all this, Airtel Xstream Fiber is also planning on introducing a range of security and protection services that would offer parental control options so that you can limit the number of websites your child would have access too. The telco is also planning to offer malware protection services so that your connected devices are safe from cyber-attacks.
Out of the 20 million broadband subscribers in India, 2.3 million subscribers are already enjoying the benefits of Airtel Xstream Fiber. However, this number is sure to increase over time thanks to the sheer number of benefits offered by Airtel Xstream Fiber.
