The Testing Process

The benchmarking process for assessing smartphone AI performance involves running over 80 different AI models. These models encompass various user scenarios, ensuring a thorough evaluation. Each model has been selected to provide a holistic assessment of the NPU, examining more than 180 different aspects of AI performance, such as speed, accuracy, and initialisation time. The results of these tests culminated in the Digit AI-Q Scoring system, a first in the publishing industry measure to gauge the AI performance of a smartphone in a standardised manner.

Based on the above tests, we have created a leaderboard of the best smartphones as per their AI capabilities that exist in the market.
