HIGHLIGHTS

A large majority of you guys have decided that you will pick up the Nokia Normandy Android phone once it becomes available.

There are one-sided discussions and then, there are one-sided discussions. The prospect of Nokia releasing an Android phone proved to be too tempting for a sizeable majority of our readers. Out of almost 3,000 respondents to our poll question: “If the Nokia Normandy Android phone turns out to be real, will you buy it?”, over 60% said that yes, they indeed would. A mere 12% said that they wouldn’t trust an Android phone made by Nokia because the Finnish phone maker didn’t have experience with Android. About 28% of respondents were more circumspect and stated that they would wait for the actual product to launch before deciding if they wanted to buy it.

The above numbers only highlight the fierce interest that Nokia’s rumoured Android phone has generated. While three months ago, the idea of Nokia releasing an Android powered smartphone appeared to be a pipe dream, today everybody would be shocked if it did not turn out to be real. And now, the rumours are that Nokia won’t just stop at the one Android phone and is in fact, planning to launch multiple phones at various price-points.
