Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 has officially launched in India alongside the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. The Redmi Note 10 series is priced competitively starting from Rs 11,999 going up to Rs 21,999. The standard Redmi Note 10 has received major upgrades across the board over the Redmi Note 9 from 2020. 

The Redmi Note 10 is the first phone in the company’s Note-lineup to feature a Super AMOLED display and is the only phone to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 processor in India so far. This is backed by quad cameras, fast charging support and more, which makes it a valued proposition over the competition. Here’s how the Redmi Note 10 fares against the Realme 7i and Samsung Galaxy A12.

The Redmi Note 10 is priced starting at Rs 11,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and Rs 13,999 for the 6GB+128GB storage variant. 

Meanwhile, the Realme 7i also starts at Rs 11,999 for the base 4GB+64GB variant and Rs 12,999 for the 4GB+128GB option. As for the Samsung Galaxy A12, it is priced starting at Rs 12,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and Rs 13,999 for the 128GB storage option. As we can notice, neither Realme nor Samsung offers a 6GB RAM option with their respective phones.

The Redmi Note 10 and Realme 7i and Galaxy A12 all have a plastic build since they fall in the affordable budget range. Note 10 measures 8.3 millimetres in thickness while the 7i and A12 are slightly heftier at 8.9 millimetres. The Note 10 is also the lightest of the lot, weighing 178.8 grams while the 7i weighs 188 grams and A12 weighs 205 grams.

The Redmi Note 10 features a 6.43-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display that uses an AMOLED panel with a punch-hole cutout in the top-centre for the selfie camera. The screen is further topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 for added protection against regular wear and tear.

Realme 7i, on the other hand, features a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) resolution display with an LCD panel that supports a 90Hz refresh rate. There’s a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera tucked away in the top-left corner which gives it a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen is also topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 features a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) resolution display and has a waterdrop notch cutout for the selfie camera. The screen does not have any kind of protection as the other two phones.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 marks the debut of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 processor which was announced in December 2020. It has an octa-core CPU with two prime Kryo 460 cores running at 2.2GHz and six power-efficient Kryo 460 cores running at upto 1.7GHz. There’s Adreno 612 for processing the graphics and the chip is paired with upto 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and upto 128GB UFS 2.2 storage options to choose from. Users can further expand the storage by upto 512GB by using the microSD card slot.

The Realme 7i is powered by the Snapdragon 662 processor which has an octa-core CPU where four prime Kryo 260 cores are running at upto 2.0GHz and four power-efficient Kryo 260 cores are clocked at upto 1.8GHz. Also onboard is Adreno 610 GPU and this is paired with 4GB RAM and upto 128GB storage options. There’s a microSD card for further storage expansion.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A12 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 processor with an octa-core CPU that has four Cortex-A53 cores running at upto 2.35GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores running at upto 1.8GHz. This is backed by PowerVR graphics and is paired with 4GB RAM and upto 128GB storage options with a microSD card for storage expansion.

The Redmi Note 10 runs on the latest Android 11 based MIUI 12 out-of-the-box while the Realme 7i and Galaxy A12 both run on Android 10 based Realme UI and One UI respectively.

The Redmi Note 10 also has stereo speakers while the other two has mono speaker units. The power button on the Redmi Note 10 and Galaxy A12 also doubles up as a fingerprint reader while the Realme 7i has a fingerprint reader on the rear panel.

All three phones have quad cameras on the back to take care of the photography capabilities. The Redmi Note 10’s camera array is headlined by a 48MP primary camera that uses Sony IMX582 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 118-degree field-of-view, 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear cameras can record in 4K UHD at 30FPS and 1080p at upto 60FPS.

The Realme 7i has a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 119-degree field-of-view, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear cameras can record in 1080p at 30FPS.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 has a 48MP primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 123-degree field-of-view, 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor. The rear cameras can record in 1080p at 30FPS.

As for the front-facing cameras, the Redmi Note 10 has a 13MP selfie camera and the Realme 7i has a 16MP selfie camera while the Galaxy A12 has an 8MP camera.

Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Note 10 with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. Xiaomi claims that the phone can go from 0-100% in 74 minutes tops. 

Realme 7i has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging while the Galaxy A12 also has a 5,000mAh battery but with 15W charging speeds.
