Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has officially launched in India and it is currently one of the thinnest and lightweight phones that you can get your hands on. The Mi 11 Lite has a thickness of just 6.8 millimetres and weighs 157 grams, besting the likes of the iPhone 12, OnePlus 9 series, Samsung Galaxy S21 and more. Xiaomi is also expanding its flagship offerings and has positioned the Mi 11 Lite in the upper mid-range budget segment.

At its asking price, the Mi 11 Lite goes up against phones such as the recently launched OnePlus Nord CE 5G (review), Samsung Galaxy A52 and more. Here we will be comparing the Mi 11 Lite with the OnePlus Nord CE 5G. Both phones feature high refresh rate displays, triple cameras on the back and fast charging support out-of-the-box. Let’s take a look at which one out of the two proves to be a better value for money offering.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is priced starting at Rs 21,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and Rs 23,999 for the 8GB+128GB option. Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is priced starting at Rs 22,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, Rs 24,999 for the 8GB+128GB storage option and Rs 27,999 for the 12GB+256GB storage variant.

The Mi 11 Lite looks more affordable but misses out on a larger storage variant that would have otherwise piqued the interest of gamers and power users as well.

Going by the current standards, the Mi 11 Lite is a fairly thin and lightweight smartphone. It measures 6.8 millimetres in thickness and weighs 157 grams which makes it thinner and lighter than phones such as the iPhone 12, OnePlus 9 series, Samsung Galaxy S21, Vivo X60 and Vivo V20 series to name a few. 

The Mi 11 Lite has a solid build as it is crafted out of a magnesium alloy and is available in three distinct colours: Vinyl Black, Jazz Blue and Tuscany Coral. It has a flat rear panel that does not curve on the edges and the Coral and Blue models have a matte finish while the Black colour has a mirror finish. The Mi 11 Lite has also received an IP53 rating which protects it from splashes of water and dust ingress. 

As for the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, it has a plastic build with a matte finish that makes it resistant to fingerprints and smudges. The Nord CE is being offered in three colours: Silver Ray, Blue Void and Charcoal Ink. It measures 7.9 millimetres in thickness and weighs 170 grams. While the Mi 11 Lite is clearly thinner and lighter, the Nord CE still manages to hold up against the competition with its design.

The Mi 11 Lite features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400×1080 pixels) resolution AMOLED display that has a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The screen supports a 90Hz high refresh rate and is topped with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 for added protection against drops and scratches.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that offers a Full HD+ (2400×1080 pixels) resolution and also supports a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone does not officially come with a protective layer of Gorilla Glass but OnePlus does manage to cram in a little bit more pixels. The Nord CE has a 410 PPI pixel density while the Mi 11 Lite has a pixel density of 402 PPI.

The Mi 11 Lite is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor which has an octa-core CPU and Adreno 618 GPU. The octa-core CPU consists of two Kryo 470 performance cores running at 2.3GHz and six power-efficient Kryo 470 cores clocked at upto 1.8GHz. This is paired with upto 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage options to choose from. It runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11.

It has the usual set of sensors and connectivity features such as dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, Type-C port and dual stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio playback. There is a fingerprint reader embedded into the power button for making it easier to unlock the phone. 

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G processor under the hood. It is an octa-core CPU that consists of two Kryo 570 performance cores clocked at upto 2.2GHz and six Kryo 570 cores running at 1.8GHz clock speeds. The graphics duties are handled by Adreno 619 GPU and this is paired with upto 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and upto 256GB UFS 2.1 storage variants. It runs on OxygenOS 11 which is based on Android 11.

OnePlus Nord CE supports 5G networks which make it future-proof till the time India gets its first 5G network. Another difference is that the Nord CE has a 3.5mm audio jack while the Mi 11 Lite does not and users have to make do with a type-C to 3.5mm jack that is provided in the box. Otherwise, we have more or less similar connectivity features including support for dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, a single speaker system and an optical fingerprint sensor under the display.

The Mi 11 Lite has a triple camera array on the back that consists of a primary 64MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 119-degree field-of-view and a 5MP macro camera. The rear cameras can record in 4K UHD at 30FPS and are backed by EIS and dual-LED flash. There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front as well that can do 1080p video recording at 30FPS.

Meanwhile, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G also has triple cameras headlined by a 64MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front as well. The rear cameras can record in 4K UHD at 30FPS and are backed by EIS.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite vs OnePlus Nord CE 5G: Battery

The Mi 11 Lite is equipped with a 4,520mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging out-of-the-box. The OnePlus Nord CE 5G has a larger 4,500mAh battery at its disposal that supports 30W fast charging.
