What you should expect from Apple’s event tonight
HIGHLIGHTS

Apple will be wooing its fans yet again as it will be announcing new products today at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. But what all will it be bringing apart from the highly anticipated iPhone 6? Here is a quick roundup of all the buzz happpening around Apple's announcement

We get to see a redesigned Apple smartphone every two years and in just a few hours will be seeing the new iPhone 6 which will have a brand new design including a larger 4.7-inch display and a slimmer and a more curved body. Rumours and leaks have been pouring in since the beginning of this year and by now we have a fair idea of how the new smartphone will look like.

Thanks to various sources have come down that the new iPhone 6 will definitely feature a 4.7-inch display with an unconfirmed resolution of 1134×750, 1704×960 or even 1472×828 pixels and will be protected with sapphire glass. Now this large size is a big leap for Apple as former CEO Steve Jobs never wanted a smartphone larger than 4-inches. Nevertheless, a 4.7-inch display seems apt for one handed operation and we personally think that anything from 4 to 4.7-inch is the perfect size for any smartphone. Inside, an Apple A8 chip will be powering the device which is supposedly a quad-core 64-bit processor with 1GB of RAM. The new smartphone is expected to have a thickness of just 7mm and if rumours are to be believed, there might be some level of water and dustproof coating as well. For the photographers, there might not be a huge surprise as there might an 8MP sensor again, but it will be a redesigned sensor, courtesy Sony.

Apple will not only bring in the new iPhone 6, it is also expected to bring in a phablet due to the high demand as well as the adoption of large sized smartphones. Various prototypes and leaks show that the larger iPhone will fall in the 5.5-inch category and will feature similar hardware and also a special verison of iOS 8 that will enable users to use the large iPhone in landscape mode. This makes sense as large screen devices feel much more productive when used horizontally. Recent reports say that this new phablet will be called the iPhone 6 Plus and will hit stores later in the month of December. Now the iPhone 6 Plus could have the same internals like the iPhone 6 but in a larger package. The display resolution is speculated to go upto 2K which would mean that selling your old car would not be enough to buy this device.

Of course the new devices will run on the new iOS 8, which was showcased in June. The new update will bring in an updated and customisable keyboard, interactive notifications, new features in mail and messages, iCloud Drive, new health apps and more. Here are more details on the new iOS update. For the ones who crib about storage, Apple is expected to launch 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and also a 128GB variants of the new iPhones. Excited?

The most exciting device though, will be the iWatch. Various developments have confirmed that Apple will be bringing in a wearable device of its own and will also take a jab at Android Wear. Firstly, Apple trademarked the term iWatch which is a no brainer. Later in July this year, Apple hired Patrick Pruniaux, former vice president of Tag Heuer's global sales and retail, after it failed to grab hold of various Swiss watchmakers. This also points out to the fact that Apple could be targeting the premium line with its iWatch.  There hasn't been any legit leaks on the iWatch, and Apple has done well to keep it under wraps. The watch is expected to act as an extension for the HealthKit features offered on iOS 8. There have also been reports that it will work independently and might not require an iPhone, iPad or iPod.

We are keen for tonight's event. Are you? What kind expectations do you have from Apple? Tip us in the comments below.
