October is shaping up to be an exciting month for smartphone enthusiasts, with several major brands gearing up to launch their latest innovations. Whether you’re looking for high-end features, foldable designs, or budget-friendly options, the upcoming smartphones of October 2024 promise to cater to every need. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the most anticipated releases that are set to hit the market just before Diwali 2024 (in all likelihood).
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. This handset is powered by the Exynos 2400e processor. For photography, the latest Fan Edition houses a 50MP wide lens, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens on the back. On the front, there is a 10MP selfie shooter. Furthermore, the Galaxy S24 FE smartphone packs a 4,700 mAh battery with 25W charging support. Also, it comes with IP68 rating.
Already launched and available in Blue, Graphite, Gray, Mint and Yellow colour options, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE will be available for order starting October 3.
The OnePlus 13 is expected to launch in China this month, with an international release likely to follow later in October 2024. It may feature a revamped design with a vertical camera island, an aluminium frame, and a textured glass back in a “Flowy Emerald” finish. The OnePlus 13 is anticipated to be lighter than its predecessor, with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The 6.8-inch 8T LTPO OLED display is rumoured to have a 2.5K resolution and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, with a possible micro-quad curved panel.

Powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, the OnePlus 13 might come with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The camera system could include a 50MP Sony LYT808 main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, along with AI-powered features like AI Eraser and AI Best Face. Additionally, the OnePlus 13 is expected to house a 6,000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging.
In late September 2024, Vivo’s Product Manager Han Boxiao showcased the upcoming vivo X200’s design and colour options on Weibo, highlighting its water-patterned cloud-step design and microwave texture that changes appearance with different angles and lighting, evoking visuals of an ocean in a storm or silk in the sun. The X200 will be available in White and Blue colours.
Vivo will officially launch the X200 series on October 14, which is expected to include the X200 Pro, X200 Standard Edition, and possibly an X200 Pro mini, with the X200 Ultra slated for early 2025. The X200 Pro will feature MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9400 chipset, a 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED display, and a 1/1.28″ LYT-818 main sensor.
Qualcomm is set to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip at the 2024 Snapdragon Summit from October 21 to 23 in China, and the Realme GT 7 Pro will be one of the first devices to feature this chipset. The GT 7 Pro will sport a 6.78-inch BOE X2 LTPO display with a micro-curved design on all four sides, offering a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. Its rear camera setup will include a 50MP primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a Sony LYT-600 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, supporting up to 10x hybrid and 120x digital zoom.

The Realme GT 7 Pro is also expected to have an iPhone 16-like solid-state Camera Control button, running on Realme UI 6.0-based Android 15, and support up to 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 6,000 mAh battery with 100W charging. Additionally, it will feature an IP69 rating for durability.
The Infinix Zero Flip, launched internationally and expected to be available in India by October 2024, features a 6.9-inch full-HD+ AMOLED main display and a 3.64-inch AMOLED cover display, both with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC, it comes with up to 16GB of RAM, including virtual RAM, and offers up to 512GB of onboard storage. Like the Infinix Zero 40 series, the Zero Flip includes a GoPro mode, enabling users to connect and manage a GoPro directly from the phone, with the ability to use the device as a monitor to review footage in real-time.
Tecno has launched the Phantom V Fold 2 and Phantom V Flip 2 internationally – but not yet in India, both featuring AMOLED displays and powered by MediaTek Dimensity chipsets. The Phantom V Fold 2 has a 7.85-inch 2K+ foldable screen and a 50MP triple rear camera system, while the V Flip 2 comes with a 6.9-inch Full-HD+ LTPO AMOLED display. Both devices run Android 14 and support Tecno AI features. Converted to Indian Rupee, the Phantom V Fold 2 is priced at around ₹89,000, and the V Flip 2 at ₹60,000. Both smartphones are rumoured to launch in India later in October 2024.
