Apple’s iPhone 5 is one of the most anticipated devices scheduled to launch this year. And the closer we get to the release of Apple’s next iPhone, the more hype is building up.
Even though we are yet to have any official information, there’ve been quite a few rumours and reports on the expected specifications and release of the iPhone 5. The last round of rumours said that the new iPhone will have a larger 4-inch screen, nano-SIM tray and will be launched on September 12.
The iPhone 5 is evidently getting a lot of media attention, and many of us are eagerly waiting for the device. Are all these rumours and expectations for the new Apple device is holding you from buying your next phone? We asked you this in our previous weekly poll.
We have received a total of 759 votes, and the majority (417 votes, or 55 percent) of respondents have played down the hype and prioritized Android ahead of the upcoming iPhone. As many as 281 respondents (37 percent) conceded that they are waiting for the iPhone 5 before they pick their new smartphone.
Only 35 votes (5 percent) were in favour of a direct ‘No’, while 26 respondents (3 percent) said they would like to stick with their current iPhone.
The poll results clearly show the massive hype around the iPhone 5 hasn’t influenced Indian users much. Moreover, Android has continued to be their favourite. It’s notable Apple’s devices have traditionally been quite expensive for a price-sensitive market such as India. On the other hand, Android-based smartphones are available in many form factors across a very wide price range, starting from Rs. 5k.
We would like to thank our readers for their overwhelming response to our weekly polls and hope same enthusiasm in future. Now it’s time for this week’s poll question. This week we have sought your opinion on the role of social media sites in circulating rumours and panic that led to mass exodus of North East Indians from various states.
