OPPO's next smartphone will use the power of Artificial Intelligence to take better selfies

Staying true to their catchphrase “Selfie Expert and Leader”, OPPO has been offering devices specifically targeting selfie-lovers. With the next product, the company aims to take selfies to the next level by using the power of Artificial Intelligence. This will be the first time a manufacturer will integrate AI into the front camera.

This feature will use a massive global photo database to beautify a selfie taken by the smartphone. Each picture you take will be examined by the AI to gather every single detail. Then, it will take that information and then use its vast stores of information to figure out which the best effect and filter to use on a particular picture is. The end result is a picture that is algorithmically determined to look the best.

However, OPPO isn’t just offering an AI-based selfie camera with its upcoming device. This new phone will also be the first smartphone to offer a full-screen FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. This display offers a higher pixel pixel count than a standard Full HD display, letting you enjoy content in more detail. Furthermore, that isn’t the only thing that you will get. The bezels on the upcoming smartphone have also been shaved down. This means that not only do you get more of the screen to enjoy, but also a reduction in the phone size for the same visual experience. So, it is comparatively smaller that other devices that offer the same screen size. Basically, it is easier to hold in your hands and carry in your pocket.

With such features, OPPO is definitely taking the tag of the ‘Selfie Expert’ very seriously. These features will ensure that when it comes to a selfie-centric smartphone, OPPO’s upcoming smartphone will be one of the top contenders.
