The announcement that the OpenPeak OpenTablet 7 will be coming to AT&T’s U-Verse was made at the CTIA press event yesterday. The tablet will also have its own app store, called the OpenPeak App Shop. According to the company, the OpenPeak OpenTablet 7 “beautifully combines the highest quality VoIP telephony with an advanced multi-media communications and information center, converging voice, video, and data into an attractive and portable device”, according to the company. The UI on the tablet is supposedly easy to use, and has all common functions listed on the home-screen itself.

The CEO of OpenPeak says the tablet is an “all-in-a device that allows synchronizing calendars, see movies/videos, listen to music, weather information, and even control the use of energy and security at home, all from one easy-to-use device.” The tablet will also feature a web-based device management tool, which will enable centralized monitoring and administration.

Other tablet and wireless devices to be launched soon on AT&T, the United States biggest cellular network, are the Zeebo, the iPad, and the GlowCap.
