Nokia XL vs. competing Android phones from Sony, LG, Samsung & HTC
HIGHLIGHTS

The Nokia XL is one the most affordable Android (hybrid) smartphones coming from a well-known brand. Here's how it compares with similarly priced Android phones from HTC, LG, Sony & Samsung.

A major chunk of Android smartphone users in India own a low-budget smartphone. A large number of these users still prefer having a device from a well-known brand rather than going for any indigenous company.

Recently Nokia showed off the Nokia XL in India, the company’s 5-inch smartphone running on a customized version of Android. While the official price has not been announced, Nokia has confirmed that it will be priced somewhere around Rs. 10,000 mark. This makes it one of the most affordable Android smartphones from a brand that one can rely on. It comes with a decent set of hardware specifications, a great looking design and build quality. But, a not so impressive Android UI.

So how does it match against other smartphones in the same range? Well here we have compared the Nokia XL to some other well know branded smartphones which give a tough competition to the new Nokia Android smartphone which is quite new on the block.

On paper the Nokia XL comparatively offers a good set of specifications. The areas where the XL falls short is the screen resolution, and its clunky Android UI, but everything else seems to work fine. It is also worth considering that even Motorola is coming up with a low budget smartphone, the Moto E, this month which is expected to arrive with almost similar specs under the Rs. 10k price bracket.
